So Whats this all about?
This adaptation of the classic novel uses narration and musical hall songs to create the location and setting. It's up beat and fun, but has a dark undertone. Its is more like the Roman Polanski film (see video below... If its still there, its rather illegally uploaded) than the musical OLIVER! We'll use a chorus to create location and there will be some phyiscal theartre and lifting (see Frantic Assembly video below) - so lots of parts are available.

Auditioning-
This will be on the Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th September in K10 Theatre (aka 'The PAC')
There are 22 speaking parts, many of these
can easily be played by a male or female.
We are entirely open for 'young boy' roles such as Oliver and Dodger can be payed by girls (that is, after all what they used to do in the late 19th and early 20th century.)
If you've never been in a play before that is
not an obstacle, especially if you are male-
we need plenty of males!
If you can sing, play piano, ukulele, banjo, guitar or (even better) accordian- we're going to have some Music Hall singers and musicians. You can read more about what musical hall is by clicking here or watch the 'My Old Man Said Follow The Van' video below to see the syle.
